MOONFAKER: A New Musical

Book by Sam French and Kyle Wilson.

Music and Lyrics by Kyle Wilson.

Friday, April 26th, 2019 @ 10pm at Dixon Place

(161A Christie Street, New York, NY 10002)

It’s 1967 and the United States is in a desperate race with the Soviet Union to land a man on the moon. The US is confident that the American dream and the spirit of capitalism can get the job done, but they’ve decided to film a fake moon landing JUST IN CASE. Leading the project is straight-laced Dougie Whittlebarker, a CIA agent running from his tragic past. But when no one wants in on the mission, Dougie is forced to assemble a team of total misfits and outcasts to envision, execute, and fake one of the greatest moments in American history.

Musical Director, Supervisor, and Arranger: David Carl.

Choreography by Brandon Powers.

Directed by Benjamin Viertel.

Produced by John Albert Harris.

CAVEMAN PLAY

Thursday, January 10th 2019 - Saturday, January 12th, 2019 @ 8pm

at ART HOUSE (272 17th Street Jersey City, NJ 07310) Tickets: $15

written by Savannah Reich
directed by Third Space Associate Artist Alex Tobey

Rocky and Dandelion are the first Cave-people to adopt agriculture. Douglas is the first domesticated animal. Together, they have prepared a presentation for you, the other Cave-people, to tell you all about the joys of agriculture. Agriculture is really great. You’re going to love it.

A new play in which we are given an opportunity to go back to the moment when humanity had a choice. One path led us towards global warming, institutionalized racism, and snapchat filters. The other path led mostly to being eaten by tigers. Is it time to admit that we chose wrong?

THIRD SPACE AT THREES

FALL 2015

An evening of performances from web series screenings to musical readings, intimate to wild immersive theater, and a Jazz concert to close out the night! Enjoy just a taste of what's next to come from the members of Third Space and celebrate a successful 2015 season.

LOVE-LORN WEB SERIES
Creator Alex Spieth brings you a special screening of a never-before seen episode from "[Blank] My Life." As well as a nostalgic look back at last season and a taster from an all new play, which is, literally, godly. BML  is a surreal comedic web series that chronicles Susan's desire to find love and simultaneously not end her life.

JAZZY-FUNKY-MUSIC
To close out our evening, Core Company member Trevor McQueen and his band bring you original music and tastings from upcoming projects. Plus, word on the street is Trevor's got some new tricks up his sleeve.

MUSICAL WORKSHOP-PANEL-CABARET-BONANZA
The boys of KRAGTAR, Kyle Wilson, Sam French, and Joe Mendick, are back at it again, this time giving you a glimpse at select scenes and musical numbers from this monster political musical comedy.

INTIMATE TO WILD THEATER
Lio Sigerson invites you "In Bed With Him," to share in a private moment with someone you may know, or not, or maybe it feels like you've known this person your whole life.  Additionally, Stephen Tonti will transport you to a sawdust-on-the-floor dive bar, "Zebra Club," in Sacramento, CA where patrons invite you to listen in.

Third Space presents "Take Me to the World," in conjunction with Douglass St. Records. Featuring Core Company Member

Trevor McQueen and director Stephen Tonti. Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

KRAGTAR

Written by: Sam French, Kyle Wilson, and Joe Mendick

Directed by: Benjamin Viertel

SPRING/SUMMER 2015

Cast: Lucas Steele*, Trevor McQueen*, Alex Spieth*, Annie Yokom*, Philippe Arroyo, J.D. Killikelly, Zanny Laird, Michael McGuire, Johari Nandi and Jacob Vine.

Music Direction by Jacob Houser.

KRAGTAR is a new musical comedy centering on a love story set against the backdrop of a Godzilla-esque monster invasion. Harry Fine and Harvey Finkler are two gay scientists reunited by fate to prove the existence of the monster Kragtar to the United States Congress, which refuses to acknowledge the beast, even as its trail of tears leaves national monuments, organic grocery stores, and the bodies of seemingly-innocent Catholic school girls crumbling in its wake.

STUPID FUCKING BIRD

Written by: Aaron Posner

Directed by: Benjamin Viertel

SUMMER / FALL 2014

Cast: Nick Rehberger*, Ginna LeVine*, Brian Morabito*, Dylan Schwartz-Wallach*, Lee Harrington*, Grace Rao* & Trevor McQueen*

In this irreverent, contemporary, and very funny remix of Chekhov’s The Seagull, award-winning playwright Aaron Posner wages a timeless battle between young and old, past and present, in search of the true meaning of it all. An aspiring young director rampages against the art created by his mother’s generation. A nubile young actress wrestles with an aging Hollywood star for the affections of a renowned novelist. And everyone discovers just how disappointing love, art, and growing up can be.

Stupid Fucking Bird includes copious use of the word “fuck.”
